Who is BAR?
When you start a business or a brand, people often ask what the heck you’re doing and what the heck your job is. Here is a snapshot of the lifestyle, and even the failures, of BAR.
BAR stands for Brittany Ann Ross.
Born and raised in Lexington, Kentucky.
Married my high school sweetheart, Robbie Ross Jr.
Together, we are the Ross Jr.’s.
At 20 years old, I dropped my hopes and dreams to follow my heart and love across the country.
For something called the MLB.
Best, most shocking decision I’ve ever made.
And that’s where it all unfolded and my journey began.
I lost myself. Completely.
Then I realized that I never truly knew who I was. And that almost everyone else is lost, too.
Except Mother Teresa, and maybe the Pope. They seem to really have it together.
I started traveling and fell in love again.
Battled with anxiety.
Went to yoga - hated it.
My grandma passed away.
Went on a yoga retreat in Aruba.
Experienced intense healing.
Found myself on my yoga mat. Literally.
All that I am and all that I want to be comes to life in my brain when I’m breathing on my mat.
Continued traveling the country and world.
I started seeing through different eyes. Hearteyes.
Everyday has been an adventure.
But I was still a little hidden, a little anxious, and a little wound up.
Then $hit hit the fan.
Death. Grieving my grandma and my best friend overwhelmed me.
Sadness came in waves. Deep, oceanic waves.
Death affects the living yet no one prepares you for it.
Miscarriages and infertility.
More health issues.
This is where I truly came alive.
I started living. I really let go.
I founded Mission 108, an anti-trafficking non profit.
Went to yoga teacher training.
Started writing, speaking, and teaching
Continued to travel.
Fell in love with life in the midst of pain, death and loss.
Found an unshakable joy in the magic of life.
Landed here. Writing this blog.
My story is real and raw.
I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Everyone has a story.
Tell me yours.
Love and hugs,
